Last year, The Autistic Collective – in collaboration with the Carers Centre – asked parents and carers across East Renfrewshire to share their experiences of supporting Autistic children, young people, and adults through an online survey.

We were delighted by the response! Roughly 200 people took part in the information-gathering exercise.

Responses were analysed by Lynsey Stewart, Research Lead and Network Co-ordinator at Autism Network Scotland – which is hosted at the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow.

We’re excited to make public the findings and recommendations of our research into services supporting Autistic people – and the people who support them – here in East Renfrewshire.

We said at the outset we wanted to share the findings with professionals and decision makers in the hope of improving services locally. We have now shared the survey report with staff from across East Renfrewshire Council, including Education Services as well as teams within the Health and Social Care Partnership, such as Adult Services as well as Children’s and Families Services.
