Many people living with dementia have difficulty negotiating walks and could benefit from some company and support.
ERCC will partner with Alzheimer’s Scotland, Voluntary action and Mearns Kirk Helping hands to launch the project, which provides one-to-one volunteer support for individuals living with dementia to attend an organised health walk or an individual walk.
We are looking for people who would be interested in becoming volunteers. Your role would be to support the person living with dementia whilst out on a walk. This would not only benefit the person living with dementia, but also give the carer some time to themselves.
You’ll receive free training, ongoing support and expenses will be paid for.
It’s a very rewarding position and the time you are able to spare each week is open for discussion.
Please don’t hesitate to contact: farah@eastrenfrewshirecarers.co.uk or call 07467070169 if you’d like to find out more.
