Glasgow’s Spirit of Christmas was founded in 2014 with just one ‘Santa Stop Here’ sign in a carpark that inspired people from all over to donate gifts and become a Secret Santa for a local child less fortunate.

The children’s gift campaign is now in it’s 9th year of supporting local children affected by hardship or living in poverty in Glasgow and surrounding regions. We want to protect and make sure every child is included at Christmas and has a wonderful magical experience. The sad reality is that 1 in 5 children in Scotland and 1 in 3 in Glasgow lives in poverty and many more are affected by hardship this year due to the global pandemic and economic crisis. That figure is set to rise over the coming years with a massive increase forecasted in child poverty.

If you would like to become a Secret Santa for one of our Young Carers it would be truly appreciated. Our office is open from Monday-Thursday 8.45am-4.45pm, and Fridays 8.45am-3.55pm at Sandler’s Cottage, Eastwood Park, and the deadline is the 19th of December.

The gift donations could be anything along the lines of festive treats, toys, books, accessories, or even vouchers- as long as they are new items. If you are thinking of dropping by with a donation, then please email enquiries@eastrenfrewshirecarers.co.uk FIRST in order to ensure someone will be at the office.

A huge thanks in advance!
