Who is an Adult Carer?

Support for anyone who looks after a family member, friend or neighbour.

An adult carer is anyone aged 18 or over who looks after, or helps to look after, a partner, family member, friend or neighbour who couldn’t manage without their support. 

You don’t have to live with the person, and caring doesn’t have to be full-time – you’re still a carer. This might be because of:
