Information & Advice
Being a carer can be a very stressful time and people often struggle to know what support is available and what services you as a carer and the person you care for maybe entitled to access.
The role of our staff and volunteers is to provide you with any information and advice relating to your caring role.
Once you have contacted the Centre you will be offered support from a key worker who you can contact with any questions and queries you may have.
In addition to this we regularly facilitate information and training sessions on a range of topics relevant to the experience of being a carer.
These sessions can be specific to certain conditions such as autism or dementia or they can be practical such as first aid or moving and handling.
Many of our sessions are aimed at providing support throughout the caring role. Someone new to the caring role may want to know more about their rights and what support is available while at the other end of the caring experience you may need information and advice about care homes or bereavement support.
A full list of what we currently have planned is on our events and training section of this website.
We try and provide sessions that carers want and find useful so if you have an idea please do not hesitate to get in contact and let us know what you would find helpful, chances are if it helps you as a carer, it will help many more people too.
